Redlands Chapter, California Society Sons of the American Revolution
SAR is a patriotic, philanthropic organization of adult
male descendants of someone who served the nation in its development
during the Revolutionary War period.
Goal of our organization:
The SAR, as a historical, educational, and patriotic
organization, seeks to maintain and extend:
The institutions of American freedom
An appreciation for true patriotism
A respect for our national symbols
The value of American citizenship
The unifying force of e pluribus unum that has
created, from the people of many nations, one nation and one people.

We will be meeting at the University of Redlands,
Irvine Commons dining facilities, rooms A and B at 8:30 AM.
The Universities address is 1200 E. Colton Avenue, Redlands,
CA 92373.
If you are not familiar with the “Commons”, they are
located on Colton Avenue, across the street from the old gymnasium and
tennis courts.
The "Commons" are just past the ground level water
fountain, which may or not be "on" at the Commons entrance. The dining
facilities are on the right, across from the campus post office, Barnes and
Nobel campus bookstore, and just a few feet north of the University Club.
Many members park in the old gymnasium parking lot, just across the
street from the Commons.

Feb 15 --- Chapter Meeting Essay Contest awards program.
We will be meeting at the University of Redlands,
Irvine Commons dining facilities, rooms A and B at 8:30 AM.
The Universities address is 1200 E. Colton Avenue, Redlands,
CA 92373. The cost of the meal is $15.00.
The largest celebration of its kind in the western United States, 2014
will be the 32nd annual celebration of George Washington's birth sponsored
by the Sons of Liberty Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution! This
upcoming event will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, February 16, 2014, at Forest
Lawn Hall of Liberty, Hollywood Hills - 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angles, CA 90068.*

May --- Board of Directors Meeting At the May 8, 2014 Redlands Chapter SAR Directors Meeting the Board
approved appointment of Charlie Frye as secretary through December 2014 in
lieu of James Mercer who is stepping down.
May 17 --- Chapter Meeting - Shawn Price updated us on The new

research.

The annual 4th of July Parade will begin from Franklin School on Colton
Avenue at 10:30 a.m and work its way around Sylvan Park.

SEPTEMBER 20 --- Chapter Meeting will be at 8:30 AM, at the University
of Redlands in Conference Room A/B in the rear of the cafeteria. Program: Paul Revere, as portrayed by Compatriot Steve Clugston of the recently formed Temecula Chapter. Compatriot Clugston also frequently portrays his Excellency General George Washington.

October 18--- Chapter meeting - We are planning for our October
program to be a field trip to the Redlands Family History Center to learn
about their resources for genealogy research.
We plan on meeting at the University of Redlands,
Irvine Commons dining facilities, rooms A and B at 8:30 AM
for breakfast and then driving over to Redlands Family History Center
