The program will be: "Dr. Beanes & The Star-Spangled Banner." Daniel Slosberg, a musician and actor, will present a new program about our national anthem, "Dr. Beanes & The Star-Spangled Banner."
In this presentation, he will portray Dr. William Beanes, the Maryland physician whose troubles with the British military during the War of 1812 ultimately led Francis Scott Key to write our national song. For more information about the program, please see www.cruzatte.com/beanes.pdf. For the last ten years, MR Slosberg has given programs throughout the country as Pierre Cruzatte, the fiddler with the Lewis & Clark Expedition.
Also, beginning this month we are conducting a 50/50 raffle as an ongoing fundraiser. We will conduct a raffle at each chapter meeting. It works such that the proceeds are split between one winner getting 50% and the chapter coffers receiving the other 50%. Tickets are priced as such:
$5 = 2 tickets
$10 = 5 tickets
$20 = 12 tickets
(pricing based on not wanting to make our treasurer accommodate 1$ bills).
You must be present to win. The drawing will be conducted immediately after the chapter business portion of our meeting.

Remember to fly your flag on September 11th.
On Sunday, September 11th, 2011, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States . Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this tenth anniversary of one our country's worst tragedies. We do this honor for those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.
