Activities
A Review of 2007
Redlands Chapter completed another outstanding year thanks to efforts of many hard working members. A list of events we sponsored or were participant’s follows:
Eagle Scout Recognition – 36 Eagle Scouts were awarded the National society Recognition Certificate and Bronze Good Citizenship Medal at their Eagle Honor Court ceremonies. One Outstanding Sea Cadet was recognized. - Shawn Price Chairman
From over 40 essays submitted for the Knight Essay Contest, the top three winner received Certificates and cash awards - Charles Kiel, Chairman
The winner of the Eagle Scout Scholarship contest received a Certificate and the Eagle Medal. - Shawn Price, Chairman
The City of Redlands Outstanding Law Enforcement office was presented the NSSAR Law Enforcement Medal and Certificate.
Twenty-three JrROTC cadets were awarded the NSSAR Bronze Outstanding Cadet Medal by members of the Chapter at the events. – John Ford, Chairman
The Color Guard took part in 12 major events: 5 parades, 3 memorial ceremonies, and 4 living history displays. Will Langford, Chairman
Our chapter membership currently numbers 47 men, and with three applications in the pipeline will increase to 50 by the end of January. One member, Tom Sentman transferred to the Missouri Society. Leland Medearis, a charter member of the chapter was reinstated. Long time member Oran Baker passed away.
