A Review of 2004

Redlands Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution was active throughout the communities this year keeping the legacy of our Patriot fathers alive with history presentations, public appearances, parades, and school activities. A brief summary of the chapter's activities follows:

  • History presentations at 5 schools
  • 9 Bronze Good Citizenship Medals and Certificates were presented to Eagle Scouts at their Eagle Honor Courts.
  • Awards were presented to the Knight Essay winners and Eagle Scout Scholarship winner.
  • The Chapter provided Bronze Outstanding Cadet Medals to 20 Junior ROTC Units at High Schools in the Inland Empire and high desert area, under the supervision of Compatriot John Ford. Members of the Redlands Chapter presented 8 of the medals to Cadets at their ceremonies.
  • The Chapter Color Guard marched in the Redlands' 4th of July parade, Torrance Armed Forces parade, La Palma Veteran's Day parade.
  • The Color Guard took part in 12 public appearances - including Sea World, San Diego; Marching Thru History Living History Event; and other civic and service organizations.

The support of our members with service and donations provides us with the means to Pursue our mission to preserve history and increase public awareness of the legacy of our founding fathers. As our membership grows and the Color Guard continues to add new recruits, we will increase our activities in the coming year. A special thanks to those who have given their time, money, service to our Chapter.
